I work at CBC Radio 3, deep in the Music section since it began...
I started at CBC Radio back in 1997, hosting 2 episodes of Radio Escapade on CBC Radio 2. I became part of the CBC Radio 3 team when it began, working on this Music section, which was then known as "New Music Canada". Out of those early beginnings, I hosted a show by the same name every Saturday night across the country on CBC Radio 2. That came to an end as the corporation re-jigged its schedule once again. I then started to produce a 2-hour show called "One Night Stand," which featured a music fan, a theme, and a whole lot of cool, obscure music, which lasted for 2 years.
CBC Radio took Radio 3 off their terrestrial airwaves and we have been broadcasting online ever since. Since the very first artist signed up straight through to our 26,000th page...I've been here.
While all of this was happening, I was hosting, programming, and producing a local punk show on corporate rock radio station, CFOX 99.3fm, in Vancouver, live to air every Thursday night for 8 1/2 years called "Punk-o-Rama Radio," sponsored by Epitaph Records.
So, go ahead, ask me something about Canadian music...
