Song Quest - CBC Radio 3: Free music, videos, podcasts & concerts

The Great Canadian Song Quest is CBC's annual contest where Canadians get to help create a new chapter in the national song book. This year's theme is Road Songs.

Thirteen musicians - one from each province and territory - will write 13 original road songs. Each one will capture a memorable stretch of road nominated and voted on by the listeners of CBC Radio One, 2 & 3. Visit the Song Quest (cbc.ca/songquest) page to learn more about how the contest will go down, to find out which artists will be representing each province and territory and most importantly, to nominate a stretch of road.

To celebrate this collective creative endeavor, we're asking Canadians to upload their own road songs and help us build a Song Quest Road Song Playlist.

Step 1 of 3: Create an Artist Profile

Before you can add your song to our ROAD SONG PLAYLIST, you will first have to create an ARTIST PROFILE on CBC Radio 3. If you're already a member and you have logged in, jump directly to ENTERING YOUR SONG IN THE CONTEST.

Creating an artist profile is easy. Click on ARTIST SIGN UP found on the left hand side of this site, and follow the directions. Be sure to tell us a bit about yourself, and include at least one photo. Our sign up process will prompt+ you to add a song right away.

Step 2 of 3: Add Your Song

Follow the prompts and upload your song. It needs to be your own original music, in either WAV or MP3 format.

Once you've uploaded your song to Radio 3 (or if you already have a song on CBC3 that you wish to add), you'll have to let us know that you want us to add it to our playlist.

Step 3 of 3: Edit Your Band Page

To do this, make sure you are logged into the website and click on EDIT MY BAND PAGE. (left hand side of cbcradio3.com)

Click on MANAGE YOUR MUSIC.

Click on the song you want to add, and then check the box marked "Song Quest".

This will let us know that you want to add your song to the SONG QUEST ROAD SONG PLAYLIST by adding a Song QUest icon next to the song in your track listing.

Once we see your song, we'll add it to the Song Quest Road Trip Playlist.
