If you happily take the night train with Oscar Peterson, or crawl into bed to the strains of Diana Krall, you’ve come to the right place. The jazz community at CBC Music is a place for people who love jazz of all stripes.
We’re here for fans and musicians both, people who love jazz and know it, from “A” Train to zoot suit. But we’re also a point of entry into the rich world of jazz. Consider this an invitation to help build a jazz community that reflects the fun and creativity of the music.
To register as a community member, sign up for an account and log in. You can follow us on Twitter and on our Facebook page to follow the conversation.
Our new site offers a lot of exciting features:
- Five new online music streams, drawing from a variety of jazz styles and artists.
- A blog that will bring you the best stories from CBC Music producers and other jazz writers (sometimes even by the musicians themselves), including profiles of top acts, interviews, think pieces and even some stories just too funny not to share.
- The CBC Music concert calendar, providing a robust source of concert information from around the country.
- An archive of CBC concerts on demand and exclusive CBC videos.
If you already know your way around the genre, we’d love you to put your shoulder to the wheel and help us build this community. If you’re a jazz-curious newbie, this is the place to get your bearings. Let us know what kind of things you want to see, and we’ll help you find them.
Start off with the streams, where you’ll hear some of the best music to get you going. You can also check out our J is for Jazz series, which explores the important facets of jazz.
We hope you’re ready. This is an exciting start to a fantastic project. We want to bring the best people along, so we’re glad you’ve decided to join us.
