Spring memiore

Finally spring is here.  The sunshine is very renewing.

Over the last month I've been working on a few projects.

Most recent is the completion the the theme for a DJ on the local radio station Kootenay Co-op radio.  The show is called "Free Range" hosted by Grant Palfenier and airs every other Thursday from 8-10pm.  I'm fairly pleased with the way the theme turned out.   It is probably the first real hard rock song I've produced.  I had Cliff Maddix (a local pro rock guitarist) come in and lay down a great solo over the bed tracks.  His guitar really brought everything together.  I will post the music so that everyone can have a taste.

I have also been working on the release of "The Soundtrack to Surreal".  The CD is now in press and should be ready sometime in early April.  I will let everyone know when the official release will be.

In the meantime,  I've been working on finishing the music that will be on my first album of personal works entitled "Sound Sculptures".  The music on this album follows the evolution of me as a musician and human being over the last 5 years.  I am on the verge of upgrading to a entirely new computer system but before I do I have to finish what is good on the present system I have.  The result of this will be "Sound Sculptures".

Jasmin Starchild's project is coming along well.  I won't say too much about it because it is in pre-production.  It's going to be really cool when finished.  The music that I'm writing for it is rooted in a tribal spirit and will follow an obvious evolution of ebb and flow.

So that's what the last month and a bit has consisted of for me for those of you who are tuning in.  Thanks for the support and watch for further blog updates to come about once a month.

Cheers!

Feeling really inspired

Hello anyone who happens to be listening to my music. I hope you all enjoy the variety I've uploaded! There are track's from a few different projects on my page: Two different documentaries in which I wrote the film score for as well as tracks that were on my mac computer just dying to get out into the world. So I have freed them all now. I wish them the best in this free world.

For those of you who would like to keep up with various projects I'm involved in currently, this will be the main blog that I use to keep you updated.

As of recent I just finished writing the score for the trailer of a Vancouver based documentary called "Im Perfect"-CineClipse Prod. The trailer screened on Tuesday February 5th to a crowd of about 150. The director has prompltly gone for a vacation to decompress after what seems to have been a very anxiety provoking period putting this trailer together. When he gets back we will tackle the official 22 min cut destined for TV.

In the meantime I am writing a 8 minute long Tribal type peice of music for Jamin Starchild. She is putting together an eight minute sequence of still images that revolves around the theme of Women. I know that's vague but I don't want to give it away!

Also I am releasing a couple albums this month as soon as I can scrum some money together. One will be the long overdue "Soundtrack to the film 'Surreal'", and the other one is called "SoundSculptures". The latter is an album of various songs from projects as well as personal works I've put together over the last.... well up to 8 years.

Anyhow that's that . I'll be posting more on this blog as time goes on and as projects progress.

thanks for tuning in,

Ben
