Jill Zmud

Ottawa, ON

Jill Zmud has never robbed a bank. But that hasn't stopped her from writing about it... She pens and sings songs about things like bank robberies, late-night rides home in winter and how a person's skin can sometimes feel like home.

Jill began writing and playing music in her early 20's. She has since performed on CBC Radio's Gallery, opened for the film Little Miss Sunshine at Ottawa's Centretown Movies festival, and somehow found herself singing the theme song for TV's House and Home with Lynda Reeves. After getting superb response to her first EP, the view from here, Jill is now putting together a full-length recording, tentatively titled Pilot Light.

Jill alternates between keyboards (a new love), acoustic guitar, and a late 1960's Fender Telecaster that belonged to her Uncle Eddie (a member of the band Witness Inc. in the 60's and 70's).
