“An ’80s retro drum-machine foundation is corrupted beautifully by eccentricity…Windom Earle gives techno such a wedgie, it might be more human.”
—Doug Taylor (June 8, 2006, The Coast – Halifax’s Weekly)

Windom Earle
Originally based in Charlottetown, Windom Earle reside in Halifax and feature Stephan MacLeod (guitar/beats), alongside Greg Boone (bass) and Matt Packman (keyboards) also of the Halifax band Sharp Like Knives. Windom Earle has three albums [Standard Equipment (1998), The New Technology (2000) and The Things I Do For Girls (2004)] and is working on it’s fourth. The band has shared the bill with Books On Tape (Los Angeles), Akron/Family (Brooklyn) and Japanther (New York). They’ve remixed Cape Breton’s Rock Ranger and the Shangri-Las, and have never been nominated for an East Coast Music Award.
“Windom Earle were the most traditional act of the night…with a focus on keyboards and glockenspiel, it was hard not to smile at their happy, fun, danceable songs. Their choice of obligatory cover was Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” which they completely eviscerated, much to the delight of everyone.”
