WHY (the band)

Winnipeg, MB

When the members of Canadian rock band WHY came together to create what would be known as the "RED" album, a two year project in the making, little did they realize the distance this record would travel . As they did with their last full length album "LAZARUS EFFECT," which received air play in major markets across Canada and raised money to support OXFAM, WHY continues to raise awareness for both themselves as well as Make Poverty History. The new full length CD "RED", featuring the single (and title track) "RED," has been well received by various radio stations worldwide. "RED" sat at #1 on the KICK FM Winnipeg TOP 40 for 4 weeks in a row, and was named SONG OF THE YEAR. Brad Pitt, another voice for the poorest people of the world, used "RED" on his MYSPACE page for a little over 2 months. The follow up single "THE SURFACE" charted, hitting #1 on KICK FM, #5 on THE Q FM in Victoria BC, and airplay from THE GOAT in Alberta, FREQ 107 in Winnipeg, (both singles have been receiving radio support at) DOWN FM in Northern Ireland, and radio in Australia.
