The Scene started with a little bit of luck. Matt Crowley (Guitars/Vocals aka. the Fat One), was a lone singer/songwriter looking to start a band, when he was referred to Jeff Gutteridge (Drums/Vocals aka. the Tall One), by members of the Canadian rock band Money Money. After a couple of calls, Jeff and Matt started jamming. They quickly realized that a bassist was needed if they wanted to have any hope of playing outside of the basement. In a stroke of unbelievable good fortune, Mark Chamberlain (Bass aka. The Good Looking One), a former bandmate of Matt's, said he would love to join up if the price was right. Well, the price wasn't right, but he stayed anyway and The Scene was born. Taking influences from The Stone Roses, Ride, Shed Seven, and Oasis, The Scene are a massive sounding rock band for just a three-piece. In the great tradition of British rock, their songs have gigantic melodies, pounding beats, and loud guitars. It's rock-n-roll perfectly suited to stadiums, stripped down to be played in clubs. This has helped them gain a large and loyal local following. They have played in venues all over Ontario, and with a little luck, even played at the legendary CBGB's in September 2004. The Orange EP (released in 2005) was their first independent release. It contained three songs: Everything You Love To Hate, The End With You, and SoulSaver. Since then, they have been in the studio working towards getting more music out there for those that want to hear it.
