The Dress Whites

Toronto, ON

The Dress Whites are a young Canadian rock 'n' roll band heavily influenced by American rock 'n' roll bands like Big Star, The Raspberries and Tom Petty's Heartbreakers who, once upon a time, were heavily influenced by British rock 'n' roll bands like The Kinks and The Beatles. Over the course of their almost three years together, the group has found out the hard way that this sort of thing is generally frowned upon by their peers. They don't care.

The Dress Whites deal, without remorse, in pure rock-guitar-pop-rock (a term they coined themselves) with the occasional dash of country, punk and/or soul mixed in for good measure. Their lyrics are concise, sharp and witty, their harmonies tight and crisp. Really, if audiences were women they could have any woman they want, but they want you.

Take a listen to these sample songs from The Dress Whites' 2007 self-titled EP and their 2008 full-length album, "My God, The Shame!". Rediscover a musical landscape you thought was all but lost and forgotten. A place where the hook is king and life begins anew every two and a half minutes.
