Formed in 2007 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Douglas B. Smith, The Day Street Brothel is a rock band from Kingston, Ontario that continues to make a name for themselves via their 1st CD release, a self titled, 15 track disc, and via their live performance.

The following is a quote from a recent album review by PartyInKingston.com, which ends up complimenting the CD & Live Show:

”Here is one album where the live show compares exactly to the album version of the songs. Usually the live versions of the songs sound a little off and you can tell what has and what hasn’t been tweaked in the control room, but when you put in this album and watch their live show there is not one lick of difference. If you listen to the album and think that the vocals have been tweaked by the soundboard, you are sadly mistaken, they are as rock solid and kick F’n ass live as they do on the album.”

The 1st release from The Day Street Brothel CD is a rock ballad titled "Heaven Sent", which, the night of the DSB’s inaugural show was aired on Kingston’s rock station K-Rock 105.7 one hour before doors opened.
