The Hassle formed in the icy Toronto winter of '97/'98, in Zoe Inane’s basement. Ruby and Zoe had been jamming out old Fanny Hill, Stone Poneys, Runaways and Fleetwood Mac songs. After shots of Southern Comfort with Kitten DeSoto one frosty December night, they made a pact to form a band. A band like no other. That band was The Hassle...
Due to a proliferation of bitch-slap battles, The Hassle chose to disband August 1998 and cancelled their much-anticipated debut appearance at the 1st ever Rock the Mill. Six months later The Hassle were reunited for a one-time show at The El Mocambo (R.I.P.), and after some coercing from their pals, officially reformed.
The past few months have been busy ones for The Hassle. This summer, they shot their video for Soulseeker, which has been featured on MuchMusic's The Wedge and they have just released their debut full length CD, Je M'excuse.
