Stewed Roots is the duo of Jeff (Jennifer) Hale and Neva Tesolin from Toronto and Niagara, seasoned performers in a wide variety of musical styles. Jeff with her country/folk influences and Neva with a classical/blues background, their recent collaboration has cultivated a versatile sound on the Canadian music scene. With the memorable vocals of Jeff on guitar, accompanied by Neva on piano and accordion, Stewed Roots is a natural vehicle for original folk/roots music. The duo earned the 2009 One Fret Less Award, sponsored by the Ottawa Folk Festival, and have garnered CBC, independent and international air play and reviews with their debut CD ‘In the Middle of This,’(2008) produced by the award winning Paul Mills. CBC Galaxie Radio Folk/Roots Channel’s top spins of 2009 included the songs "I Don't Think About Him Much," "Pretension Rag," and "The Fisher and Me," offering simple but affecting homespun tales -- memorable story songs that you readily want to rehear. "Your music is sort of like a car blanket, warm and cozy, one I would wrap myself in on a cold drive. Available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/stewedroots
