Bio – Rob Smith
Rob Smith has been writing and recording his own tunes since 1990. He has 4 recordings to his name; Doghouse (1991), Dry as a Desert (1993), Incubator (2000), and Mutiny (2005). The first 2 are mostly solo acoustic performances with a few extra touches. On Incubator and Mutiny, Rob has drawn from an ever broadening musical palette and pool of accompanying musicians. Where Incubator is a warm trippy acoustic "tree planter's camp" outing, Mutiny is a dark, lush, multi-guitar weave that challenges the listener and kicks musical conventions squarely in the crotch.
Smith has performed his songs for a variety of audiences with a long list of other instrumentalists, including a stint fronting Vancouver band, RAY. He will continue to put out music and push the boundaries of instrumentation. Check out some of these songs, and feel free to check the website for further information, gig/band history, tid-bits, and magic. All the best...
