With Belmundo Regal, the band was able to continue their musical evolution and refine their sound. By adding brass, guitar, exploring new territories in songwriting and putting a little funk into it, the repertoire of Belmundo Regal has become the most polished and dynamic material the band has recorded to date. The eleven tracks of the album invite the listener into an extraordinary universe where imagination and mystery are the only ways to travel.
How so? The album has been written after an incredible trip to Nova Scotia, explained by LX:
Our new album is dedicated to a stranger we’ve met in May 2009, while we were on vacation near Oak Island, on the south shore of Nova Scotia. This Island is the location of the so-called Money Pit, a site of numerous excavations to recover a treasure believed by many to be buried there. The stranger has introduced himself as Belmundo and we’ve decided to name him Belmundo Regal. He was captivated by the Oak Island mystery and so were we.
