Quebec Connection

Montreal, QC

Quebec Connection is formed by, ace-producer, Nathaniel Hebert and lyricist, Synergy Plus. Born in Montreal in 1978, Nathaniel was introduced to the world of analogue synths through his prog-rock loving parents and has been enthralled with electronics ever since. After receiving his first keyboard and graduating from Communications and Electroacoustics, Nathaniel's foray into music turned many leafs, first exploring the organic side of the man-machine dichotomy as Synaptic Loop, releasing kraut-inspired downtempo during the heyday of the MP3 boom, and later forming the musical better half of the electro-trash-talking, Mike Gee and the Family Tree experience. Assembled in his studio apartment in the McGill Ghetto, Nathaniel meticulously handcrafts Quebec Connection's sound on dodgy, wood-grained equipment. With an ear for dirty analogue basslines, Nathaniel creates detailed tracks complimented by homemade drummachine percussion and pilfered claps and toms from crateloads of old disco vinyl. Overall, Quebec Connection strives to build a unique sonic palette, where the past and future collide in new and innovative ways. The new album, Bonjour Electro, is is a classy, teutonic-disco themed album, chronicling the golden days of Montreal’s Expo 67, to a vision of the future that may yet happen.
