Panthea

Toronto, ON

Panthea, the brainchild of Rikki LaCoste, emerged in 2000 out of the pan-esoteric organisation Psychopomp. It is the Bardic face of Psychopomp in the most ancient sense of the word "Bardic," and upholds Psychopomp's ambitious vision of spiritual convergence of all peoples, cultures, and beliefs. The music of Panthea spans the bulk of Rikki's life composing and recording music, from his days in high-school to today. Although the music, taken collectively, cannot be pinned-down to one genre, there is a sense of cohesion in the songs. Throughout the years, Rikki experimented with noise-scapes, rhythm, classical, medieval, Celtic, world-beat, and alternative music. Influences include baroque and chamber music from his Choir School days - to industrial tantrums like Skinny Puppy.
