His debut album was released in the spring of 2007; with a few appearances from some of Montreal's locals including Katie Moore, Angela Desveaux, Joe Grass, and Mike Evin, the album shows off some of his guitar skills and still has room for his baritone growl.
Along with his solo work, Mike also lends his skills to a
number of Montreal
bands. He has recorded records with David Macleod, Katie Moore, Angela Desveaux and Orillia Opry (Ships at Night
Records) and was a member of the now defunct Ideal Lovers. You may have seen him in the past couple of years on stage with Montreal’s Plants and Animals (Secret City Records), Katie Moore (Borealis), Angela Desveaux (Thrill Jockey), Yonder Hill, Joe Grass, David Macleod (Ships at Night Records), and Mike Evin.
A new album is in the works; songs that will be recorded mostly in a solo setting, with more focus on the guitar work than on his previous release. ETA? Hopefully come the fall 2009...
