Matthew J Thomson

London, ON

Matthew J Thomson hails from Newfoundland, lived in Montreal, Quebec for eight years and now resides in London, Ontario. He is the guitarist and one of the singers for the group Open Fields. He is also a recording engineer and producer and has recorded and produced a number of recordings including his solo work and band Open Fields.

This solo project shows Matthew's acoustic side and his folk influences with catchy melodies,  rich harmonies, and sophisticated instrumentation and arrangements.

All the sounds you hear on these recordings, (acoustic & electric guitars, banjo, mandolin, bass, piano, organ, synthesizers, glockenspiel, harmonica, tin whistle, drums, percussion and vocals), were performed and recorded by Matthew Thomson in his home studio, in which he secluded himself for months in order to produce the album. All guest vocals were perfomed by Danielle Hamel
