Like all good exhilarating endeavors, Ghost House began in the spirit of co-operation... a meeting of the minds between members of two longtime rival bands, Operation Makeout and The WPP. From the Operation Makeout side of the tracks came the vocals, keyboard, and Hive recording maven, Jesse Gander (who also supplied a lion's share of the songwriting). At his side, the stella guitar and backing vocals of the talented Katie Lapi. Joining forces with them are The WPP's rhythm section... a one-two punch consisting of Steve Matheson on bass and backing vocals (aka the jab to the solar plexus) and Allen Boyle on drums and guitar (the uppercut that starts from the tip of your toes). In addition to these preeminent performers, a veritable who's who of kids from the neighborhood added their talents to the project... including Shannon Wood (gogostop) on various vocal duties, Marissa Johnson (The Seams) with some backup vocals, Laura Lee Schultz (New Years Resolution, Skinjobs, Queasy) on guitar and backing vocals and finally, Jesse's old buddy from his d.b.s. Days, Andy Dixon (Secret Mommy, Red Light Sting) It's fun, unpretentious, lets-play-in-the-basement-and-everybody-can dance- on-the-linoleum-in-their-socks type music. ... perhaps someone should go and peek in the windows as there's obviously something kind of scary going on there... scary good.
