Geometer is Eli McIlveen. Born: Brampton, 1974. Raised on the outskirts of Sudbury, Ontario. Earliest instruments: tape recorder, guitar. Influences: too many to list. Style: Urbient? Bioregionalist? Post-motorist? The music is largely electronicky, but Geometer is short on four-on-the-floor beats. Instead, it draws on everything from Afrobeat to the Pixies, with results that are sometimes moody, sometimes manic, sometimes annoyingly silly... and always about listening.
