As a young band (between the ages of 15-18) and living in rural Nova Scotia Eco-Shock has accomplished MUCH in the last 2 years. We chose our name to represent the disrupted state of the environment and the world in general. We play Earth Rock!
We’re all currently between the ages of 16-18 and have played together for 3 years including ‘All Ages’ shows and opening for Priestess 'stars of Guitar Hero III' and ECMA's Iron Giant.
We were in the running to open for KISS and the Canadian Forces Rockfest but our age disqualified us.
Eco-Shock has nevertheless won the majority of Battle of the Bands contests throughout the Annapolis Valley and Halifax regions over the past few years.
We performed in the Yarmouth International Air Show in September 2009 to honor the military.
With limited funds, we managed to raise enough money for our first CD through pre-sales, sponsorships and contributions from each of our band members. “Get Shocked” CD was released in April 2009.
We were listed on the top 10 college charts for 5 consecutive months (October 2009-February 2010) and Exclaim Magazine reviewed us in December 2009.

In February 2010, Eco-Shock was chosenfor the Indie Music Showcase TV series. Each week for 12 weekly episodes Rock 1 features songs from 2 top local Indie bands and one headline band recorded at major clubs, festivals & concerts such as Hard Rock Clubs, the Vans Warped Tour, Tattoo Rock Parlor, the Gibson Guitar Artists' Lounge, and many others. This is the unique 'The Indies Play' segment. We're pretty stoked about this!!
Over the coming year, our band will be working on the release of our next CD which will be recorded in 2011. It promises to show diversity of our music styles, talent and maturity.
Eco-Shock continues to demonstrate that regardless of age and geographic location, we continue to create opportunities to stretch our talents and evolve our music.
