Deadbeat, aka Scott Monteith, is no stranger to bleary- eyed excursions into the digital wasteland of sound editors and software synthesis.
The project began in early 1998, in the interest of further exploring modern synthesis techniques within the techno and dub genres.The distinctive sound quality made it’s debut in the form of two twelve inch releases for Canadian labels, Hautec and Revolver, being met with international aclaim. This culminated in a release on the prestigious German label Background Records, and the first Deadbeat full length, Primordia, on Montreal label Intr_version.
Hindered only by the occasional buffer underrun or synapse misfiring , the Deadbeat project is a continuous search for new sonic textures and deconstruction techniques.
