Known to most as a quiet but opinionated individual, Tizik was born in the "City Of Da Mega"(Scarborough/North York) and raised by his single mother, a former R&B/POP singer. Attending his mother's studio sessions on occasion at the age of eight years old and observing her talent and determination motivated him to eventually try his hand at the music game. Tiz was also greatly inspired by his older brother, who was known for his rap skills. During his troubled teenaged years, Tizik continuously pursued and persisted with his love for hip hop music. With his boom box and looped instrumentals in hand, travelling from basment to basement, staicase to staircase, and hood to hood, Tizik took his rapping to the streets! Affiliated with many people, Tizik created the group name "D.E.S.I.L"(Different Energetic Soulz In Life 2001). The concept was a collage of the many talented friends/artists that he knew from various areas. Coordinating the schedules of numerous people though, seemed to be impossible! (D.E.S.I.L Comp. 2005 Vol. 1) Childhood friend, Tinstarr, has been a major support and righthand man to Tizik. Tinstarr aka L1 has always been in the mix throughout everything. Eliminating all distraction, both Tiz and Tinstarr are now rapping together as a powerful source of energy.
