Color Me Psycho rocked and rolled after a fashion, scaring all manner of kids, small animals and old people in Calgary, AB from the Spring of 1985 through Autumn of '88. They played a messed up style of "post punk" stuff that crossed old 60's garage rock, psych, 70's punk/heavy metal, and whatever the heck else they felt would fit in (or not). The honing and the crafting took place back in the days when local and touring bands would get booked to play entire weeks in various watering holes around town.
Despite their American spelling, CMP managed to release a cassette-only album ("Kiss Me, Then Color Me Psycho", 1986), and a vinyl-only album ("Pretend I'm Your Father", 1988). They also had a few tunes scattered across some long outta-print compilation albums, including the Og Records releases "It Came From Canada" Volumes 3 and 4.
In 1987, CMP managed to participated in an unreleased horror flick called "Salmacis" (aka: "Little Girls Don't Kill"), which few people have seen or heard of, outside of the folks who made the damned thing.
After calling it quites, various members went on to such Calgary bands as the Von Zippers, Curse of Horseflesh, the Primrods and Forbidden Dimension.
