Caroline Spence

North Saanich, BC

Caroline Spence is a magnetic performer with a distinctive, melting, resonant voice similar in quality to Sade, Sarah McLachlan, and Karen Carpenter with a touch of Patti Smith thrown in for good measure. Caroline's music is a unique and poetic blend of pop, folk, and rock and highlights both her warm, caring nature and wry sense of humour. Her ability to see the world in colourful ways is clear to anyone who listens to her interesting lyrics and melodies. Caroline Spence was one of the originating members of the enigmatic indie band, AITI MAA, that played and toured around Toronto for many years. She wrote songs, sang both lead and harmony, played rhythm guitar and keys, and helped create the intricate arrangements the band was known for. Caroline has recently moved back to her hometown of Victoria, BC from Toronto, and is currently living amongst the great pines writing and polishing material for her first full-length solo album. A cross country acoustic tour is expected in June 2005 and her album is slated for release in 2006.
