This Saskatoon-based indie rock band brings together electronics with harp, viola, a 3-piece brass section, five vocalists and a miscellany of other instruments such as dobro, steel drum, melodica and mandolin, on top of a standard rock rhythm section. The songs range from quiet country gems to to triumphant pop symphonies. The lineup is: Steve Reed, Jim Ginther, Zach Low, Toby Bond, Brian Cochrane, Mairin Loewen, Alex Loewen & Alison Whelan.
Carbon Dating Service released our first album in the summer of 2006 and followed that up with our second album, Polyentendrii, in the summer of 2007. In 2007 we toured with fellow Saskatonian and BFF Maybe Smith. Then in 2008 we went on tour with Ride til Dawn. In 2009 we released our third album, Reliquiae, and promptly retired.
