Bruce Jones is a long standing and established member of the Canadian music scene community whose contributions have been so vast and singular that it is fair to say no other musician in the country has managed to integrate rock, Brazilian and various other folkloric elements into such a personal and ongoing series of musical statements.
Bruce commenced his musical studies in earnest at the Academia Paulista de Musica in Sao Paulo, Brasil, and upon his arrival in Canada, continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
This background has contributed to his extraordinary range of abilities in the areas of composition, arranging and performace as both a vocalist and an instrumentalist notably on guitar and brazilian percussion instruments.
Both of the CDs, SARAVA CRIOLA and CANADA EH! have received acclaim from critic, Andrew Sun, as "among the most fascinating Canadian records ever made". Da and other musical ensembles led by Bruce have been featured in concert situations across Canada, Brazil, Cape Verde, West Africa and Argentina in venues from worldbeat to jazz and dance.
