Dave Bidini was the founder of Rheostatics, among Canada's most acclaimed bands. He is also the author of 8 books, including On a Cold Road and Tropic of Hockey, recently named one of the Top 100 Canadian Books of All-Time. He has also made two award-winning hockumentaries, The Hockey Nomad and The Hockey Nomad Goes to Russia, and written two plays, The Five Hole Stories and Night of the Dogs. He won a Genie Award for the soundtrack to the film, "Whale Music," and recently composed music for "Act of God," which opened this year's Hot Docs festival in Toronto. His currently working on his next book, "Home and Away," about Team Canada's adventures at the 2008 Homeless World Cup of Soccer, and for whom he sits on the advisory board. "The Land is Wild" is Bidiniband's debut release.
