As The Poets Affirm was born out of a group of independent Ottawa musicians in the early months of 2001. What started as a three piece acoustic project, slowly transformed into an eclectic seven member lineup. To date, the group has been steadily sparking both national and international interest with two independent full-length releases. Their first album quickly found its way to the top of the campus charts across Canada in early 2004. The Jaws That Bite, The Claws That Catch was released later that year with another sold out show at in Ottawa and quickly surpassed its predecessor by topping the campus charts. Currently, they are promoting their second release and recording third full-length at Toronto's Chemical Sound.
