Andy Warren

Vancouver, BC

I worked for several years at a unique music shop in Vancouver called Highlife World Music. I sold CDs and guitar strings to local musicans like the Be Good Tanyas and Feso. Was a lot of fun working there and meeting other artists like Michael Franti, Thievery Corporation, and Lhasa. Kevin Finseth from the store introduced me to producer Paul Baker several years ago, and like my first album, I asked Paul to produce the new EP: "The Blurring Line". A few months before my recording date, and without a Bass Player & Keyboardist for the project, I awoke from a dream in which I met 2 towering guys walking down the street. They must have been 10 meters tall, but they were approachable. 2 weeks before recording, Paul introduced me to a Bassist he had just met: Derek "Jingles" Jinghoree, who in turn introduced me to Keyboardist Joe Bashorun. They happened to be in Vancouver on a break from their usual touring, and agreed to play on the songs, much to my amazement and enjoyment. (They've played with artists including Jamiroquai, Annie Lennox and Ernest Ranglin.) The Prince of the Pocket Geoff Hicks played on the songs and Coco Love Alcorn and Carrie Gibson sang wonderful Background Vocals. (Ask me sometime about the session when we recorded the 'halellujahs' on the title track with Engineer Mike Rogerson.) So the 6-song EP is a folk/jazz/gospel thing. Entheo global soul. Am putting together touring plans to get it to you. Hope you might enjoy.
