500 Pound Furnace was formed by Nick S 5 years ago while hanging out with his buddy Allan (drummer). They started writing song and looking for muscians to jam with. Kyle E and Andy were added to create the original line up. They wrote songs with tempo changes in the middle bleeding off to what seemed a diffrent tune all together then pops right back into the tune. The music is fast and exudes an energy that is best experienced live. It's like a runaway train coming right off the stage at you. 500 Pound Furnaces fans base is like a steady growing cult, after every show there is always a handful of people coming to the side of the stage, eyes gleaming, shouting wildly, "This is the first time I've ever seen you guys, that blew my mind!!!"
The band strongly believes in the "Big Rock Show" as it was in the 80's. Long hair, powerful guitar riffs and heavy drums and bass. Funny if you sit these four guys down you'll hear they were inspired by a wide variety of muscians over the years. Drummer All C had to leave the band for medical reasons and Andy moved away. So the line is now Kyle (vocals) Nick (guitar) Jesse (bass) Bobby (drums). Yes some people have moved on but the Furnace is still raging the concept hasn't changed. The band myspace www.myspace.com/500poundfurnace lists all their shows, merch, and a video were fans can keep in touch with the band. You will always get a reply from a band member (not someone running the page) if you send a comment or message. The band is for the people with out the fans we may as well sit in the basement!!!
