Creating and Uploading Videos
Acceptable Digital Formats
AVI, MOV, MPG, MPEG, M4V, WMV
How does this video thing work?
We make showing off your videos a piece of cake! Simply upload your video in one of the accepted formats, and we'll take care of the rest. We have some fancy behind the scenes software that takes care of making sure your videos will be seen by anyone who can listen to music on our site.
What formats are recommended for best results?
We recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 600 pixels wide with MP3 audio, at 30 frames per second. We run your uploaded video through an automated encoder, and resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better.
How long will my video take to upload?
If you're on a high speed connection, you can expect to wait 1-5 minutes per Meg of upload. Of course this depends on your connection speed and the size of your video. As the video is uploading, the green progress bar will show you how much of the file has transferred, so be patient, and don't close your browser window processing the upload.
Once we have the file on our server, the encoding process will take a bit more time to create the final video compatible with our flash video player.
