Joel Plaskett's new emergency? Recording and producing his new album in 10 weeks.
Inspired in part by the record industry of the 1950s – a decade when the single ruled and when songs went from the studio to the radio very quickly – the Dartmouth-based singer-songwriter and his band, The Emergency, are taking a run at recording and producing a brand new song each week from now until early March, resulting in his new album: Scrappy Happiness.
You'll be able to listen to each new track here and on Radio 2 each MONDAY. On Tuesdays, you can buy the track on iTunes. And on Wednesdays, you can hear the week's new song plus an interview with Plaskett on the Craig Norris Hour.
We'll also have some great bonus content coming your way over the next two months, as we examine the songwriting and recording process with multimedia features, video updates from Plaskett HQ, and occasional live chats with Plaskett so you can ask him yourself how the project is going.
