KIND OF GROSS, NO?

KIND OF GROSS, NO?

Posted by Chris Alscher on Jul 29, 2010

No one is at the restaurants. No one is at shows. WHY? Everyone's at the beach. Perhaps not in the beach, but they are close enough. To be honest, the water is just getting too gross for me, especially swimming in the Vancouver beaches, like English Bay and Jericho.

Lakes I can do. My wife and I have yet to take a trip past the city in any direction to a more secluded, cleaner, body of water this year. But usually beaches + lots of people = gross.

If you go to the beach, do you ever swim in it. How dirty does a beach have to be in order for even YOU to not swim in it!

third beach is still good! it's the same water but it seems a bit more open. i love swimming though, and i grew up swimming in the hammer (aka hamilton, aka the armpit of ontario)... so my level of gross is probably significantly higher than most people's.

    Chris

The other night I incorrectly corrected you re: The Mountains & The Trees song title.  It is indeed More & More & More.  I had been reading other incorrect reviews and should never question a  Radio 3 host.  Lesson learned and my sincerest apologies.

The cool thing about living in Michigan is all the coastline we have and the only place I would not swim is the Detroit River.

I totally went swimming last weekend at Kits beach

Sure it's gross, you can see industrial tankers in the distance, kelp floating in the water, who knows what making it cloudy. Still, it was fun, I enjoyed my swim. Just tried to keep my head above water.

Still, much different than swimming in Kootenay Lake like I grew up with.

    third beach

that used to be this un tapped little bit of beach. But it's packed every time I ride my bike around the sea wall.  I'll try it though. And sincerest apologies accepted,CDNz1. I'll probably have to apologize soon though!!
