Wrath of Khanna: The Breakfast Club with Gregory Pepper and Noah23

Posted by Vish Khanna on Apr 22, 2010

And Vish says "Yo" and also, "Welcome to the Breakfast Club, where this week my guests are Guelph's Gregory Pepper and Noah23, both of whom are participating in Kazoo! Fest this week." Where will they go? Why, the Town & Country Restaurant and Tavern in Guelph of course. "Not of course," Vish interjects. "I've never been there. Where is it? Is my kind welcome there?"

That was weird. Still it's all true. Greg and Noah are old pals and collaborators and they're each among the most singular musicians I've ever come across. Both hail from Guelph where I live, which means I don't have very far to go for breakfast today. But what is the Town & Country? As I was quoted saying earlier, I've never been there. We'll all find out today.

What do you know about the work of Gregory Pepper and Noah23? Would you eat at a place called Town & Country? Will I see you at Kazoo! Fest? What are YOU having for breakfast?

    Good Morning, Breakfast Time!

    Town & Country sounds kind of an exclusive club you need to have a green jacket to get into. Or it sounds like the name of a terrible buffet full of screaming kids. Anyways I am sure Gregory Pepper and Noah23 won't let you down. They seem like nice fellas.

    Okay my breakfast is going to be yogurt and granola, some toast, and coffee. Or the MikeV special as I call it. I make my dog pretend she is a waitress and I give her my order. I don't let her touch the actual food though, because that would lead to far too much fur content.

    @Martin

    There are two things I love about that performance of Desperado

    1. It's got a kazoo in it

    2. Don Henley is nowhere to be seen.

    @ Mike V

    I'm pretty sure I saw Don Henley in the shadows brimming with rage.

    Don't pigeonhole youself to gender roles, man. Be free. You can be anyone you want.

    I would like to be the statue that they dance around. Although it gets smacked with a slice of deli meat. Hmm.

    @Paul Fisher

    You can still be that Bender! We need an animated character in the pack.

    I dibs'd Zoidberg, which I suppose is still appropriate, given that I failed in a spectacular manner. Hooray for Zoidberg! *click, click*

    @dawn.h

    You're right. I can be a guy character!

    Therefore, I choose Brian. I totally love packed balanced lunches. Plus he wears cool shades during the dance scene and looks totally cool.

    Done!

    I'm Brian!

    Lets have a festival to question why there are so many festivals!

  23. littleO

    Festivals

    I think Guelph and Ottawa should have a competition to see who has the most festivals. The National Capital Region has a festival for everything under the sun:

    The Rideau Canal Festival

    The Tulip Festival

    Westfest

    Bluesfest

    Folkfest

    Jazz Festival

    Fringe Festival

    Writer's Festival

    Capital Pride

    Lumière Festival

    The Great Glebe Garage Sale

    *pant*

    1. wow, loving this Noah 23 featuring Jim Guthrie. loving.

    2. i'm having muesli with yogurt and cinnamon for breakfast at my desk. that's part 2. part 1 was a grapefruit at home.

    3. i can't wait to watch the video of Martin's sister playing Desperado on the kazoo.

    4-6. What I know about the work of Gregory Pepper: it makes me want to dance like Charlie Brown (in a good way). I would certainly eat at a place called Town and Country. Vish will not see me at Kazoo!Fest.

    Why "Ha"?

    The GGG Sale has got all the ingredients of a perfect festival, just more community oriented:

    -bands

    -artisan vendors

    -local NGOs with information tables

    -people giving away free stuff

    But I admit no fault.

    Dear Bio

    Re tonight, don't feel pressured to make up your mind now just because I'm on blog (about to go off, actually, for 90 minutes). You can let me know yea or nay as late as 5 or 6, as far as I'm concerned.
