Good morning everyone and welcome back to the Breakfast Club. I say "back" because I was away for a while. Remember? I wasn't here? You didn't notice? What the hell?! Whatever...
It's a big show today for a couple of reasons. First I head to Chez Cora to celebrate the third anniversary of Out of this Spark with label owner Stuart Duncan, and his latest signee, Jonas Bonnetta of Evening Hymns. OOTS is home to artists like the D'Urbervilles, Forest City Lovers, Jenny Omnichord, the Friends in Bellwoods benefit compilations, and now Evening Hymns. It was also the original home for Timber Timbre before Arts & Crafts got wise to him.
After making a bet with Casey from Ohibjou, Evening Hymns wrote the acclaimed new album Spirit Guides. The band plays a couple of OOTS anniversary parties in Ontario over the next few days. I'll ask Stu and Jobo all about this. I should maybe ask him if I can call him Jobo.
Second, after talking about this since the summer of 1986, the Breakfast Club podcast finally launches today!
After the show streams here, you can download the podcast and re-live
your favourite moments with your mother and her friends! It'll be
incredible, you'll see.
Are you a fan of the artists on Out of this Spark? Have you heard
the new Evening Hymns record? Are you excited about the Breakfast Club
podcast? What are YOU having for breakfast today?
