   My favourite holiday song is Atom and his Package - What We Do On Christmas which essentially talks about being Jewish around the holidays.Too bad he isn't Canadian!

   My favorite Christmas song is Christmas In Hollis, and my favorite Christmas album is by Boney M, but neither of those are Canadian. 

    

   So for an actual suggestion I'll go with something from the charity album Jill Barber, Rose Cousins & Meaghan Smith did a couple years ago.

   Amy Millan's "Pour Me up Another" makes me feel warm and cozy - like sitting by the fire (perhaps around Festivus?!) having some egg-nog...plus, the crowds around the holidays sometimes lead people to drink!

   Basia Bulat's "December" is pretty perfect in all sorts of ways: one being the title! ad the line "it won't be long till winter's gone again"...so cherish this Festivus season! :) 

    

   Julie Doiron's "Nice to Come Home" is great because it makes me think of my family out of town, which is what people might do around Festivus.

   Stars does a cover of Fairytale of New York...that's my favourite xmas song by far. Other gooders include a diddy called Chiron Beta Prime by a guy called John Coulton which is about a family of humans working as slave miners on an asteroid. Feist's version of Lo' How a Rose e're Blooming. And That Was The Worst Christmas Ever! by Sufjan Stevens. There are so many good holiday songs, I don't know why we only hear the same old crap every year.

    Rose and Rose (cousins) did a fun chirstmas video (I think it was jingle bell rock)some time ago (can be found on youtube... there must be a recording of it somewhere)

    AND the Good Lovlies have a great new Christmas CD out- with a great cover of the chipmunks christmas song (also an original by Kerri Ough on the same CD worth a listen)
