The R3-30 Goes Sterile with Vish, We Are Wolves, Boo Hoo, and More!

Hi everyone. My name’s Vish and I’m filling in on the R3-30 for Craig Norris, who's taking one of his odd, one-week vacations in November. What does he do? Where does he go? I'm pretty sure it's nothing and nowhere but you just never know...

On this week’s R3-30: a member of We Are Wolves answers one of our 30 questions, we revisit a Long Range Request romance; Boo Hoo start a "jump the shark"-style music thread and I discuss my own obsession with seeing artists live on the R3-30 FC; we spin the Wheel of Freedom; and we count down this week’s top 30 songs before calling this week's #1 artist!

Okay, let's see if Pedro and I can stand working together for longer than five minutes...

    My guess is Craig spent the week watching all the Police Academy movies with a big bowl of Cheetos never to far from his sight.

    ack, I am very strongly in favour of crunchy cheetos.  If I found out Craig liked puffy cheetos, I'd cry a little.

    Craig is a bit of a wild card so my guess is he gets one bag of crunchy and one bag of puffy and mixes them together.

    As am I.  In fact, I find it strange that crunchy cheetos are one of my favourite snack foods where as puffy cheetos are one of my least favourite.

    The puffy ones are much better.  Better texture, better balance of delicious cheese powder and weird processed corn product, better looking.

    i feel compelled to bring some love for "puffy cheetos" (or as we say in my family, cheezy poofs) to the blog.  come ON! they ROCK.  if not because of their melt-in-your-mouth cheezy goodness then their dual function as a humidity index... once had cheezy poofs out for  a birthday party in late june, +35, humid as hell (is hell a dry heat or a wet heat?) and those suckers got not-crunchy in less than an hour.  impressive.

    I love how the puffy cheetos melt in your mouth. But when it comes to cheezies my favorites are those hawkins ones that are super crunchy. Sooo good.

    yeah, see, if I want that whole "melt in your mouth" thing, I tend to lean toward Popcorn Twists, not puffy cheezies.

    I agree with hgummo. Hawkins rules.

    But I usually go for spicier chips instead of cheezies

    ah, good to hear.  i was starting to wonder if there was a gender divide on the crunchy vs. puffy question.  you've put my mind to rest on that score.

    But with a caveat…

    •Buy a bag.

    •Open it.

    •Leave it alone for 12-18 hours.

    •Eat them stale.

    No really try them stale. I am serious. They take on this weird edible oil product predigested, stress-ball sand softness that makes them a lil' more palatable.

    Regular Puffs are only one degree removed from Crunchies which are the Cheese counterpart to Capt'n Crotch Crunch and part of the same Mouth Shredding Shrapnel Food Group.

    oh, i've tried them (see post #8, above... i don't let good, stale junk-food go to waste)... and yes, they are their own cheezy experience, but the non-stale still wins. i'm all about the mouth shrapnel.  if you want to talk stale junkfood, let's talk just slightly stale sour patch kids for a moment... now there's good stale junkfood.

    i've seen the orange soup. i worked at a bulk barn store when i was a little kid. the bottom of a box of those was quite disturbing.

    It's the third day of pouring rain in Vancouver... it'll be this way until about Tuesday.

    Stop raining on my shoes, they're still wet from yesterday. The clouds are being dicks, that's all I can say.

    Ahh, but when the sun comes out in Vancouver, it is nothing short of glorious.  When the sun comes out down here, we wonder: will this drought ever end?  Will we have water rationing this summer?  And of course, who wants to go to the beach?

    we don't have that in Canada ... we just don't "get it"

    Nothing beats 2 dollar highballs, cans of beer, 3 dollar mac and cheese and tacos.....

    you need to come to the Paramount in chicago.  $5 gets you a shot & a can of PBR.  to wash down your burgerbites.

    heck yeah.  they'll even serve you a rye (most places here if you ask for rye they wonder why you want toast in a bar)
