A few weeks ago I started a blog discussion about grunge 2.0. It seems that plaid and wool are back and Dinosaur Jr. is hotter than even back in those early 1990s.
After thinking about the idea of nu-grunge, I decided that grunge never went away and just got absorbed into culture the way individuality became conformity.
What I’m trying to say is that it wasn’t all about Seattle. We here in Canada had our own guitar-laden classics, and even got the attention of ground zero grunge record label Sub Pop.
And further to this point, I think Jale’s Emma sounds as good as it did back in 1994 when it was released on the album Dreamcake. Have a slice and enjoy.
