Happy Halloween - The Later Version

Posted by Lisa Christiansen on Oct 31, 2009

Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints. It is largely a secular celebration but some have expressed strong feelings about perceived religious overtones.

Thanks to Wikipedia for always putting everything in perspective. I don’t want to say that events described as “largely secular” are the most fun, because I mean Christmas is pretty good, but there’s something about an event that is held to just have fun. Nothing else to it: dress up, eat candy, go to a party and dance until someone asks you to bob for apples or eat some strange cake with licorice that looks like spiders.

So get out there (after the show) and if you’re home tonight, enjoy the show. And remember stay secular.

And as promised: a fine collection of gruesome film deaths.
