A few weeks ago, I was reading yet another frustrating story about a band getting their stuff ripped off. In this case, the band was Young Rival and though they didn't lose much in the way of gear, they did lose their van. You can read more about it here.
Now for some good news regarding Young Rival - their studio session is now available for download!
We recorded them back in November of 2008, so it's been a few months, but these are the kind of tracks that age well. You could even go so far as to say that their whole style of songwriting will age well considering they take cues from 60's garage rock and the timeless sounds of bands like The Beatles and The Kinks.
I like using expressions like "timeless" and "ageing well" considering that we're talking about some pretty young lads here. But Young Rival is a group of young guys whose song craft and playing abilities go well beyond their years.
Get ready for some sweet guitar riffs and short punchy songs that you'll be wanting to sing backup to.
