Wintersleep Added To Paul McCartney's Halifax Bill

Posted by Jennifer Van Evra on Jun 25, 2009
We told you about how Joel Plaskett was just announced as one of the opening acts for ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney in Halifax this summer - and now East Coast favourites Wintersleep have also been added to the bill.

The huge concert is happening Saturday, July 11 on the Halifax Common.

Last year, the Stills opened for McCartney on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, a concert that drew a crowd of over 200,000 people.

Says McCartney of his first-ever show on the Canadian East Coast, “I am very happy to be playing Halifax. The Canadian audiences are great and the timing of the event, with the arrival of the Tall Ships, means that it will be an exciting event for us all. We are looking forward to rocking in Halifax."

Tickets aren't cheap - they range from $136-316 - and you can find them here.

    Dear Wintersleep

You deserve this so much. I am so pleased to watch your career from the beginning of playing small venues to playing at the ECMA's in Charlottetown to winning a Juno to see you play live in Cambridge England, to the many NxNE shows and now this.

The East Coast is the new Montreal.
