It's not the easiest name to pronounce, but
♬.ws is a new search engine that's promising to help Twittering music fans cut through the sea of tweets and find mentions of their favourite bands.
Created by
Sawhorse Media, the creators of
Musebin, ♬.ws allows you to search for any album or band and see what people are saying about them on
Twitter.
According to
Wired, search results include your search term, whatever links are contained in the tweets, links to other sites about the artist and a link to the Twitter account where the post appeared.
"We want to make the experience of seeing what people are saying
(tweeting) about music easy and fun," said Sawhorse Media CEO organizer
Greg
Galant via email. "We don't know what the end game is since Twitter's
evolving so rapidly. We're providing a tool to challenge people to take
discussing music on Twitter to the next level."
Don't feel like cutting and pasting the music note symbol? You can also find the search engine at
Musebin.ws.
Evidently, though, a few bugs need working out, since a search for
Arcade Fire turned up dozens of tweets about funerals, including these:
So I'm here at walmart to pick up an order of
chicken for this funeral, said it would be ready at 1:30, got here they
said they forgot
