Arcade Fire responds to Flaming Lips’ 'Prick' Comment

Posted by Chris Kelly on Mar 05, 2009
As reported on this blog yesterday, Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne made some harsh comments in a Rolling Stone interview about Montreal band Arcade Fire. He was quoted as saying they were "pricks", "pompous", and that they treated their crew and audience "like shit".

Front man of the Arcade Fire, Win Butler has now posted a response to the comments made yesterday explaining the one time that he recalls sharing a stage with the Oklahoma band 3 years ago, "I guess everyone has a different idea of what being pompous means."

For the full response head on over to The Arcade Fire's website and click on Win's Scrapbook. And if you want to recall more he said/she said independent music news revisit the Stars vs. Ben Folds story.

    LOGO/FIRE

Hey, as for the logo, it's a classic and inspires good memories to those of us who hated the cbc as kids when our parents made us listen to Saturday Afternoon at the Opera, but who now love it for CBC3, DNTO, GO and other great shows too many to list.
As for the Arcade Fire, until they put out an album to redeem themselves for releasing the worst sophomore in history (aka Neon Bible) they better not do anything else to alienate fans.
Thanks for keeping me Canadian in the UK.
