Gentleman Reg Inks Deal with Arts and Crafts

Posted by Grant Lawrence on Jul 15, 2008

The biggest independent label in Canada just added another artist to its stable of stars. Toronto pop singer-songwriter Gentleman Reg will now join the ranks of Feist, Broken Social Scene, the Constantines, and Gonzales.

The record, entitled Jet Black, will be released on Arts and Crafts on October 14. It will be be Gentleman Reg's first album since his critically acclaimed last record Darby and Joan, released four years ago on the now defunct Three Gut Records.

"It's been a long time coming" says Gentleman Reg. "I searched for a new label for a long time, and I got turned down by a few. Amazingly, Arts and Crafts was my first choice from the very start".

Broken Social Scene singer and Arts and Crafts co-owner Kevin Drew has been a champion of the record for awhile and has recently been seen scouting for possible Jet Black cover art at local Toronto art shows.
