Radio 3's Craig Norris calls it the 'Fax. Halifax. I'm guessing that's the name you use for that city if you're lucky enough to have spent a few days there (like Craig did). The Halifax Pop Explosion sounds like an amazing festival and this year, Canadian acts like Ron Sexsmith, and The D'Urbervilles played and I noticed that USA songwriter Josh Ritter was playing too. Man!
R3's Grant Lawrence made mention of the east coast friendliness in one of his posts from the festival and after reading that, I kind of wished I had been there with the gang, roaming from club to club to check out shows.
Alas, I wasn't and perhaps you weren't either. That's why they invented digital recording and podcasts. This miraculous combination has allowed us once again to bring you highlights from our live broadcast that took place on Saturday October 25th, 2008 at the Marquee Club. This podcast features performances by; Ruby Coast, The Got To Get Got, Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains and Islands.
And if you want more Pop Explosion, why not download Craig's R3 30 podcast while you're at it - I hear the "streeter" regarding The Inbreds reunion is hilarious!
