Sing For Your Song Canada!

Happy Canada Day!

Tune in to CBC Radio One today at noon nationwide to hear Amanda Putz and myself host a Canada Day all-request special called Sing For Your Song Canada!

Over the past month we've collected your sing-song requests on our answering machine, belting out the songs that you consider to be your personal Canadian anthems. Tune to see if your message makes the national airwaves!

We also polled some of the most familiar voices on CBC Radio and put them on the singing soapbox as well, such as Michael Enright, Jian Ghomeshi, Nora Young, Brent Bambury and more.

The two-hour show will be a mix of CBC Radio 3 faves like the Weakerthans, Great Lake Swimmers and Joel Plaskett lined up against classic Canadian artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young.

So grab a beer, hit the porch and crank the radio! It's Canada Day!

    How Could Forget? :)

How could you two forget about the Logdriver's Waltz? :)
I still remember the song and cartoon since I was young. :) It was aired like crazy during the 1980s.

if you tattoo it on your head, are you a......

Congratulations on putting a dark cloud over all the lovely old ladies singin "The Maple Leaf Forever", by having a horse's ass of a host use it to spur his desire to rush out and tattoo a maple leaf on his butt. (Grant Lawrence)

re: if you tattoo it on your head...

I don't think Grant was being facetious, he actually was impressed with the cross-Canada chorus of women who all happened to be our first batch of callers!
