It's becoming one of my favourite traditions here at CBC Radio 3... our Sing For Your Song Podcast Special for the Canada Day long weekend. Over the past month we've collected your phone messages showing off your pipes and your patriotism on our answering machine. We've collected calls from across the country and now they're all lined up on this show for you to enjoy.

Wave the Maple Leaf to the sounds of Canadians belting out the lyrics to the Weakerthans, the Rheostatics, Jeremy Fisher, Grand Theft Bus, Rose Cousins, Forest City Lovers and many more.

As an added bonus, this show has been upgraded to a special Sing For Your Song Canada special airing Canada Day, this Tuesday July 1, at noon on CBC Radio One. I'll be co-hosting that special with Amanda Putz.

    I have come to terms with the fact that it's alright to get a lump in my throat and a moistening in my eyes as I flip back and forth between Radio One and Radio Three to get the full enjoyment out of Sing For Your Song Canada!
    Yay, I say! Yay! Happy Birthday Canada!
