When
CBC retired
ZeD, many viewers worried that the Corp's bold experiment in user-generated content was over for good. Not so. For months now, a small team of producers, formerly of ZeD and
Radio 3, have been working to create a new program called
Exposure.
Straddling the web and TV, Exposure lets Canadian storytellers share their short digital films with an online community that will help determine which videos will make it to television, and later vote to select the
Yahoo! Canada Showdown winner, who will take home a development deal worth up to $25K to develop their own online series. Along the way, Exposure is also giving out moolah and weekly prizes for the films that make it to TV.
Hosted by
Lara, aka "Lala" from
Tiki Bar TV, Exposure will air every
Sunday night at 11 PM on CBC Television, starting on
Sunday, July 29th. But don't wait till then to get involved if you want a crack at the contest. I suggest you head on over to the FAQ to find out how to start entering your videos. If, on the other hand, you are more of a mouse potato like me... go and watch. So far...
this is my favourite.
