The R3-30: Week Ending March 8th, 2007

Posted by Craig Norris on Mar 02, 2007

Snow. Holy sheeps#!t, so much snow.
Here in Southwestern Ontario, we've had another blast of winter. Not the fluffy, happy snow, either. This is the stuff that can put an eye out.
Ugly, hateful snow. Personally, I see it as a metaphor for the remaining days of The R3-30 on CBCRadio2. I'm not sure how, actually.

All I want to do is curl up with a pint of creme de menthe, and an S.E. Hinton novel and read about a magic world where Socs battle Greasers.
I will soon, but first I have to do this blog entry because John Paolozzi has no sympathy for Ontarians.

This week's show is a good one. Listen to it. And remember to download the podcast this coming Monday. I'm going to shovel now.

After you're done that book you can move on to the choose your own ending one where Chewbacca and Spoc battle the Gremlins on Tattoine. That is if you have enough mental capacity to absorb such literature.

p.s. The Snow and Winter can in the words of SCTV's Joe Flaherty once penned in a Valentine, "Go Hide in it's bum".

I have to admit Craig, the podcast does in fact sound great!
This sounds like an AMAZING show this week! FEIST! AWSOME!

    Is your name BILLY?

I just have a couple of humorous points to make after hearing the saturday night show:

    1. It was hilarious when Grant interupted to announce who won the satellite radio

    2. It is VERY cold in Vancouver right now

    3. What in hell happened when you played the *wrong* Arcade Fire song, followed by about a minute of slience in which i thought my radio batteries had died, followed by Craig calling the song by the name "Black Mirror"?

    4. The new Feist song is amazing

    5. When the guy says "I will break you!" or whatever before the chart breaker, to me it sounds like "ANOREXIC!"

So there is my 2 cents, anyone else feel free to respond to my ramblings!

    Radio

OK, so I believe I was the one who won the radio this week, but, since it airs after midnight here in TO, I was out on the town and couldn't listen to it! Why did Grant interrupt? Can you describe this to me? What are the odds I can actually hear this since I don't have the radio yet and I believe it's only replayed on the Sirius during the week, not on Radio 2!

Well neuromancer on Grant's show before the R3-30 they had people calling to ask Narduar (or however you spell that) questions, and one person won a radio. But during that show they didn't announce who won and during the first or second song of the R3-30 Grant's voice came on saying "We interupt this....to announce that _____ has won a satellite radio"

It sounded hilarious. I don't think you can hear the show again w/ out a Sat-Rad as Craig calls them.
